Most of the covid19 restrictions have eased, especially those related to travel and Curacao therefore invites TT to come and visit.
The Curacao Tourist Board hosted media and members of the travel industry last Thursday at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel, during which it shared information about travel to the island.
The regional director of the Caribbean tourist board, Janine De Windt, said that since the easing of restrictions, the island had seen an increase in the number of TT visitors, particularly during the Easter period.
On April 5, Caribbean Airlines (CAL) resumed flights to the island, according to a March 9 article.
The article went on to say that the airline would operate non-stop flights between the islands with its fleet of Boeing 737s twice a week. At last Thursday’s event, de Windt said there are now more opportunities here in the Caribbean to fly to Curacao and the board is happy the airlines are working again.
Windt and his team showed those in attendance some of the reasons Trinidadians should visit the country: from its hotels to shopping to its events.
Its growing medical tourism business has also been highlighted as one of the unique reasons people should come to Curacao. Windt and representatives from select hotels and resorts on the island highlighted what each had to offer if people decided to stay there. Hotels and resorts talked about all-inclusive packages and unique offers like go-karts and rooftop accommodations. Sunscape Curacao by AMR Collection, Trupial Inn and Casino, Mangrove Beach Corendon Curacao All-Inclusive Resort and Papagayo Beach Hotel were some of the hotels represented.
Eileen Isebia, surgical technician and medical tourism and wellness facilitator, explained to the public the possibilities of traveling to Curaçao for medical tourism. She said people don’t need to travel all the way to Colombia for cosmetic surgeries that can be done in Curacao.
“As you all know, post-covid, we are increasingly focused on our well-being and our well-being. So now we have that too to exhibit and offer. You should not only come to Curaçao for the beautiful beaches, the beautiful hotels and the excellent hotels. But now you can also come to Curaçao to experience wellness and relaxation,” she said. Isebia said that its medical facilities offer cosmetic surgeries and also dialysis, among others.
Media and members of the travel industry were also treated to Curacao food and drink at the end of the evening.
