Falcon Gold Reveals High-Grade Gold Results From Summer Exploration At Central Canada Gold Project In Ontario
Sampling on the JJ Walshe mine corridor yielded five grab samples ranging from 11.2 grams per tonne of gold to 79.7 grams per tonne of gold.
Falcon Gold Corp, a developer of precious metals, has released an update on its summer 2021 mapping and sampling program at the Central Canada Gold Project near Atikokan, Ontario.
Sampling on the JJ Walshe mine corridor returned five grab samples ranging from 11.2 grams per tonne (g / t) of gold (Au) to 79.7 g / t Au.
The exploration company also noted that assay results highlighted several previously undocumented gold zones across the property, including Sugar Shear (22.9 g / t Au), Monte (3.63 g / t Au), Honey (1.04 g / t Au) and Zone Hoist (1.12 g / t Au).
The Central Canada mine trend is described as having a mineralized lateral length of 140 meters (m) as defined by the drill intersections and consists of parallel zones trending east-northeast and dipping very steeply to the northeast. North West.
The mine corridor includes the historic JJ Walshe shaft, which was dug on a 2m wide quartz vein. The newly documented sugar shear extends 360 m along the north shore of Lake Sapawe, 650 m southwest of the JJ Walshe workings and returned values of up to 22.9 g / t Au in shot from historic sites.
The Monte zone, located 970 m east-northeast of the JJ Walshe well, is also newly documented and returned values up to 3.63 g / t Au. While the recently discovered Honey zone located on the north shore of Sapawe Lake, 600 m east-southeast of the JJ Walshe showing returned values of up to 1.04 g / t Au.
Finally, the Hoist zone is located 1900 m east-northeast of the JJ Walshe shaft, within a mixture of tonalite, granodiorite and gabbro near the folded contact of the green rock and the intrusive complex at the North. Falcon stated that this zone contains up to 1.12 g / t gold in weathered granodiorite.
A total of 269 grab samples were taken from across the property.
“The detailed mapping and sampling program for the summer of 2021 has exceeded our expectations,” said Karim Rayani, CEO of Falcon, in a statement. “Falcon has confirmed the high grade of the JJ Walshe pit area. . ”
The CEO of the company added: “These results only reinforce our belief that the Central Canada gold project has enormous potential to accommodate a large tonnage system. “
Falcon is now stripping and trenching in Monte, Hoist, No. 2 Vein and the JJ Walshe trend. Additional mapping and prospecting has been recommended for the Sugar Shear and Honey zones, while property-wide mapping focusing on structure and lithologies is underway.
