Here’s what time to watch Fortnite’s Ariana Grande Rift tour concert
Today, Ariana Grande will be performing (well, “playing”) in a sprawling Fortnite setting similar to what we saw with Travis Scott last year.
There will be a number of shows that you can see in different regions and as such a number of times to consider, although things are starting in the west today. There’s a Rift Tour tab in the game showing all of this, but if you don’t want to open Fortnite to check out and just Googled it instead, well, here we are.
- The Ariana Grande Rift Tour concert times are (all in ET):
- The Americas – Friday, August 6, 6 p.m. ET
- Worldwide – Saturday, August 7 at 2 p.m. ET
- Asia and Oceania – Sunday, August 8 at 12 p.m. ET
- Europe and Middle East – Sunday, August 8, 10 a.m.ET
- The Americas, Sunday, August 8, 8 p.m. ET
So if you are in the Americas you actually have Three chances to watch the show without changing region. Supposedly, there will be no differences between the shows. We don’t know how long each will last, but for reference, Travis Scott’s show was just under ten minutes, I believe. Even if they tried to evolve it, I wouldn’t expect to have spent 15 minutes.
It seems likely that this will be the most expensive show Fortnite has ever produced, both in terms of production value as they try to outdo Travis Scott’s astronomical experience, but also possibly in terms of what Ariana Grande has cost to board, given that besides Lebron James (apples and oranges), she is possibly the biggest star in the world to appear in the game.
Ariana Grande skins have already been on sale for a few days now, and you’ll likely see a lot of them at the show. While I kind of think that wearing celebrity skin is that celebrity’s preoccupation, it’s like wearing a band’s t-shirt to go see the band. Anyway, I’ll be Chun-Li, my go-to, at least until Cammy comes out in a few days.
I believe the “doors open” for shows an hour in advance, and there will be no mistake about where to go. Fortnite is once again set to shut down all other playlists during this time to ensure everyone attends the concert. They even delayed competitive play this weekend so it wouldn’t interfere with the show. Either way, enjoy it, it should be something you shouldn’t miss.
