SYKES Holiday Cottages has now acquired a leading UK caravan holiday company as the business continues to grow.

Just weeks after the holiday chalet company took a majority stake in Forest Holidays, the UK’s leading owner of eco-friendly holiday chalets, the company has now united caravan company UKcaravans4hire under its new umbrella.

The move means Sykes is entering the static caravan holiday market for the first time, diversifying its range of rental properties as the company seeks to become the leading UK-centric alternative accommodation platform.

UKcaravans4hire was established over 10 years ago and connects holidaymakers to over 6,000 holiday homes across the UK.

Following the acquisition, the Huddersfield-based business will continue to be managed independently by its existing management teams, but will be attached to a newly formed parent company.

The combined group of companies under Sykes, whose own platform provides access to over 22,500 holiday homes, is expected to take over 2.65 million customers on holiday in 2022. The group employs over 1 700 people and is on track to deliver over £170m in revenue in 2022.
